Retired Fire Hose Waste Reduction Program

At Brotherhood Designs Foundation, we are committed to acquiring and distributing retired fire hose to zoos, animal sanctuaries and other beneficiaries as part of the Retired Fire Hose Waste Reduction Program, and to reduce waste while supporting animal welfare, where they are repurposed for various uses like animal enrichment and safety.

To further our mission, Brotherhood Designs Foundation generates earned income through the sale of American Flags and other patriotic items made from retired fire hose, with all proceeds reinvested back into the organization’s charitable activities.

We are committed to sustainability and honoring the brave men and women who serve in our fire departments. Each flag we create tells a story of service and sacrifice, while also contributing to a more sustainable future.  By purchasing a product from Brotherhood Designs Foundation, you're not only supporting American craftsmanship, you're also helping us reduce waste and make a positive impact in communities nationwide.

How You Can Help?

We invite you to be part of this important cause. There are two ways you can support the Retired Fire Hose Waste Reduction Program:

  • Donate Retired Fire Hose: If you or your department have retired fire hose that is no longer in use, consider donating it to our program. Your donation will help us continue to repurpose these materials and keep them out of landfills, while supporting animal sanctuaries across the country.

  • Make a Monetary Donation: Your financial support helps us cover the costs of repurposing the hoses, storing it, shipping and supporting the zoos and sanctuaries that rely on these donations.
